Sample Honors Project Research Papers
A research paper is an opportunity for you to discuss a particular set of knowledge with the wider community. In order to understand the concepts, processes, vocabulary, and material of your creative experiment - the reader must be given a primer full of background information on your topic! For example, if you are to discuss "How ***blank*** (insert crazy, unique, and bold idea such as pollution, water quality, Kanye West, Red Bull, or any other idea here) Effects Plant Growth... it would probably be in your best interest to explain to the reader how a plant actually grows. In your background research paper, you could cover a wide set of topics ranging from photosynthesis to cellular division to proper nutrient uptake. Your goal is to inform your reader! Check out some of the examples below... while they may not be perfect examples - they should steer you in the right direction.
As always - please ask me questions should you need clarification. Good luck! |
Example #1 - Review of Literature on Assessments and Grading in the Secondary Classroom written by your teacher, Mr. Hulse, as part of his Masters coursework. Feel free to read and provide commentary! Note - this is not a scientific review, but is still formatted similarly.
